Randy Hostetter

Chief Executive Officer

Since starting his own business in 1988, Randy has built the company by dedicating himself to serving the customer. He is heavily involved with daily operations regardless of the size of the project. Randy has over 30 years experience as a project manager, superintendent, and business owner. He deals with all aspects of construction projects from acquiring bonds and permits, to submitting bids and proposals, creating a budget, as well as scheduling construction and overseeing field operations.

Despite the company's success, Randy continues to be defined by his work ethic and focus. He is constantly working on site, juggling various responsibilities and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standard. Randy is committed to hiring quality employees who are dedicated and responsible to the customer. His experience directing countless projects to completion, on schedule, and to the precise specifications of the customer, have been essential in growing the business to what it is today.

Darlene Hostetter

Business Manager Emeritus

Since the founding of the company, Darlene has helped shape the success of our business. She is vital in helping to manage administrative tasks, business development, and much more. Darlene has vast experience working behind the scenes in the company and remains involved from a strategic standpoint. Regardless of what is asked of her, Darlene is always there to help keep the company on track.

Heather Crawford Hostetter

Chief Financial Officer/Office Manager

With a B.S. in Accounting from Virginia Tech University, Heather has proven to be adept at corporate financial management throughout her career. She has a wealth of experience working for the Hearst Corporation, a multinational media conglomerate, as well as Deloitte, one of the big four global accounting firms. For many years, Heather has focused on the expansion of our business while overseeing accounting, payroll, financial management, and much more. Her dedication and commitment to ensuring the company runs smoothly have been fundamental to our growth.

Richard Chaffin

Estimator

Richard has over 25 years experience in banking, construction, development, and excavating. He has also owned and operated several businesses throughout his career bringing an eclectic mix of knowledge to our company. He joined Randy Hostetter Excavating in July of 2014 and has been an integral part of the team. His attention to detail and work ethic have helped us maintain the reputation with our clients that we have today. Richard prepares cost estimates by analyzing blueprints, proposals, site requirements and much more.

Dusty Mayo

Chief Operating Officer/Project Superintendent

Dusty has worked on numerous projects for the company during his tenure. As a Project Superintendent with over 12 years experience, he has overseen numerous Virginia Department of Transportation projects, the Sheetz Store in Lexington, the expansion of the Virginia Tech Football Locker Room, as well as the ongoing Washington and Lee University Natatorium and many others. Dusty always brings detail oriented focus and competent management to our projects.
